Iron & Design is a Memphis born business that began in 2018. Beginning when two men met and discovered their shared enthusiasm for the trade of iron work and the challenge of designing beautiful, functional structures. Specializing in custom made pieces from gates and fences to table bases and art work, our artists are skilled in their trade. Working for distinguished residential home owners to upscale designers and architects, our skill is well-crafted in conception and execution.

Top notch powder coating finishes are used on our raw metals to create a long lasting product. Using an array of materials such as mild steel, aluminum steel, brass, cooper, and bronze, including a variety of faux finishes, the choices of designs limitless.

Zach Shoe · Owner.Artist.Craftsman

  After graduating from an established welder program in Memphis, Zach, found himself with a quite fortuitous job opportunity. Working at one of Memphis’ oldest ornamental iron shops, proved to be fertile conditions for a growing journeyman. Now skilled in ornamental and commercial design applications, his talent stretches beyond the typical welder. He has worked in the industry for over 10 years with experience not only in metal but also many forms of art, including painting and sculpture. 

Some of Zach’s previous work can be found all around Memphis, TN from The Overton Square to The Dixon Gallery and Gardens. 

 

Matthew Wrage (Raw-gee) · Owner.Designer.CityWood

 For many years, Matthew has been the proud owner of the local Memphis wood shop, City Wood. City Wood's mission is to create beautiful pieces of furniture from fallen trees that otherwise would end up in a landfill.
